Snow and Halloween

What a week! A had an interview in Lincoln, Ne this week and we decided to go earlier because of the snow storm. The interview went well and we are hopeful but were snowed out of Wyoming from Tuesday till Saturday. Thanks Davis' for letting us crash at your house for so long! After being snowed out of Wyoming for almost a week we were excited to get back home and enjoy Halloween. I made our costumes (Rose's skirt was the most fun). Here are some pictures of our little Bumble Bee and her bee keepers.

Decorating Halloween cookies. Delicious. We weren't able to carve pumpkins this year but we are thinking about Thanksgiving pumpkins:)
This is from the first fall snow storm. Rose had a love hate relationship. She loved to eat the snow but hated not being able to move in her snow suit.

Big Head

The following conversation took place yesterday when I brought Rose to my mom's 2nd grade classroom. We'll call the 8 year old girl "Sally".
Grandma-Does anybody have any more questions about Rose?
Sally-Yeah, what's that on her head?
Me-Rose is learning how to crawl and walk, she bumps her head all day.
Sally-Is that why her head is so big?
Me-(Stiffling laughter) Oh no, she just has a really big head.

holy tomato

Tonight we went out to help MilMil (grandma Milmonster) harvest her tomatoes because it is suppose to freeze tonight. For those of you who have seen MilMil's garden this is no small feet. It took 6 of us about 20 minutes to get all the ready tomatoes. All of a sudden I heard grandma scream and the hub yell. I looked over and the side of Rose's head was bright red. My initial reaction (as you could imagine) was horror and then we all realized what had happened. Grandma had tried to throw a soft tomato to the chickens (around 15 feet) and didn't realize that Rose was right in her line of fire. The hub who was holding Rose tried to move out of the way (and did a pretty good job) but it still hit her. Here are the pics forever making grandma feel terrible:) Pics are from the camera phone. Rose wasn't shaken at all. She really didn't even have a reaction. She did like the chickens!

On another note...a few weeks ago we dressed up in our favorite sports gear to get free chick-fil-a. Even Rose got a sandwich. Go Pokes!

Photoshop 101

I am a creative wannabe (I have no natural talent) but I really like to do creative things. I really want to start taking pictures of my babies so I decided to start learning photoshop. It is harder than the tutorials make it out to be so here is my first photoshop experience.
Here is the original picture. Rose (6 months in this pic) is looking very cute but as you can see, the floor is terrible, A's feet and the table legs are in the background. Well, after experimenting a little, this is what I ended up with. I could work on it forever but I decided I needed to move on so here is the next pic I worked on...
I didn't get very far :) Hopefully after a few more tutorials and more practice, photoshop will not seem as intimidating. I would appreciate any advice from all of you photoshop junkies.
