The Rest of our Summer Vacation

So, I really want to post about the rest of our family vacation so here it is. We went to Steamboat Springs for my grandma's 80th birthday and grandparent's 60th anniversary. Here is my entire family on my mom's side, including my cousin who I had to photoshop in. If you look closely you can totally tell who it is.
The hub's new favorite game, Kubb.
Here is Rose with my grandma, her namesake. And yes, she is picking her nose.Rose decided to potty train herself while we were gone. AWESOME. However as soon as we got home she was uninterested. Oh well. You have to love the poop picture. My dad got a new car. Rose thought it was nice too!
After being home for quite some time we headed to Bozeman, MT for the Hub's cousin's pre-wedding party. And yes, there was a slip and slide. The boys made this gigantic 50 foot slide, lubed up with dish soap and freezing cold water and raced down. It was not on a slope so you really had to get a running start. The hub was sore for a few days after from landing on his chest 20 times. Rose took a turn and didn't like it as much as the boys.
After Bozeman we headed home for 17 hours of car time. Tired and ready for a break, we stopped at Mount Rushmore. And yes, Rose is picking her nose, again:)
She decided to do some acrobatics for picture time. We had such a great time with family and friends. Now that the hub has started dental school I am looking forward to family vacations every summer.

Funny Girl and 27 Weeks Picture

So, I just thought I would share a few funny moments that our Rose has had recently. She talks up a storm and is clearly understandable.
-She loves saying "good girl" and has recently applied this to just about anything. "Good girl lion" "good girl cereal" and my favorite "good girl papa"
-Rose will play peek a boo with just about anything as well. The other day we were outside and the air conditioner came on. So she snuck around my legs and played peek a boo with the air conditioner for about 2 minutes.
-She will have conversations with herself while she is suppose to be napping such rambling on about something I don't understand and then every few moments saying "ok" or "no"
-While eating sloppy joes she had way to big of a piece in her mouth and tried to swallow. She got all red and in a raspy voice said, "big bite."
A picture of us at the hub's white coat ceremony. My dad came out to see us. This is the only picture where Rose looks happy. She was way too tired this day.

Here is a 27 week picture. I am feeling much better and actually getting out to exercise a few days a week. This second pregnancy is going much faster and I attribute it to not having a baby ticker on my blog that I have to look at everyday reminding how much longer I have left. The weeks just seem to fly by. The hub started dental school last week and is doing well. He is very busy and Rose and I are getting use to being alone all day and sometimes all night. So, if you are in Lincoln or just want to come visit, please do!

Family Vacation Part 1: Glendo Cabin

Before I get going on our long vaca, in July we had the Mil's visit us on their way to Texas. Of course we went to the zoo but I really don't have good pictures of them but here is a cute one of papa and Rose.
The end of the month we did a ton of traveling (3 weeks and around 3,000 miles) starting with flying to Denver and visiting my grandparents and aunt and cousin from Atlanta. Then we headed to Glendo for an amazing cabin stay with the hub's family. If you have only seen the I-80 side of Wyoming you should travel northeast of Cheyenne to the Glendo/Guernsey area, so pretty!
Rose with my cousins Sarah and Joel.
Mini B getting messy at the table. All of us Mils have found the joy of owning a Chicco Hippo chair!Lil'Mil's family brought rock band to the Glendo cabin so of course we rocked out a few times. I'm pretty sure that grandpa Mil needs to start a band in retirement! We even got the kids to play a few songs.
Do not wake the sleeping Giant Hoss!
We all love Aunt Rach!
Don't worry the boys are wearing swimsuits but the kids wanted to swim! And yes, this "cabin" was amazing!Canoeing down the river. Uncle Chris and I had the more stable canoe so we didn't tip over three times like Grandpa Mil and Aunt Rose. Haha! The other boys brought us in to shore. Good thing because we would have just kept going. Good times. I think after the baby comes I might take a kayaking class.See how cool our Outback looks with a canoe!!! The canoe is borrowed so someday we will be this cool and not just pretenders.I got to visit my best friend from Rock River and her kids. I had Shade in my class both years and miss this guy so much!
Stay tuned for family vacation part 2!

June Update

In June we didn't do too much. I was still sick, we were getting the house ready, my parents and the Hub's mom came to visit, we finished our garden, completed a project in the kitchen, and started on the bathroom. Oh, yes, and the hub and I took a long trip to Las Vegas. Rose also turned 18 months and started nursery!!! We can finally enjoy church again.Rose looking at pictures of "baby". Sooo cute.Outside our new house after planting flowers. You can tell what Rose's favorite game is outside. Now the purple flowers have taken over and they look completely different.
The start of our garden right off of our back patio. The hub had to clear this spot out as it was a rock disaster! We rented a tiller and the walking stones are super for watering and picking! I will have to take a picture of the garden now only two months later. Unbelievable.Trying for three! Success! Our garden baby (notice the stains on her shirt). One day we went mulberry hunting with a friend. I made a pie with them but they didn't have too much flavor so I added frozen rhubarb from last year's harvest. Pretty yummy but I think I'll leave the mulberries for the birds next year.Eating breakfast in style! She seriously left these on the entire time she ate.
Las Vegas...a fun place to be for a day or so but I would not recommend 4 whole days like what we did. There is too much you really don't want to experience! But we had fun relaxing by the pool, walking around, seeing the shows (we would recommend Mystere) and just being alone.
The hub really wanted to go shopping! But he had nothing to worry about, I didn't buy anything. We loved the Bellagio fountains. Probably our favorite part of Las Vegas was getting ice cream and sitting out front on the street and watching them for an hour.
And because it is probably in high demand...here is the around 20 weeks baby belly picture. Don't worry ladies, it doesn't look like much but I'm much fatter now:)

More updates to come!!!

May Update and Philadelphia

After only a week in a half of being in our new home we decided to visit Lil'Mil, Nano and family in Philly before they headed out to Texas. We will have to visit them in Texas a lot more than we went to Philly because Rose constantly asks, (Owi is what she calls her cousin) "Owi? Owi? Where's Owi?" Here's the blog update to prove we were there.
Holding hands at the zoo. So cute.
What a great uncle reading Go, Dog, Go for the 100th time to all the kiddos.
The hub had to get stitches out from 10 moles he had removed so he asked his brother to help out. I think he learned never to do this again because at one point he got so light headed that he passed out. It was in such slow motion that none of us really knew what was going on until he was on the floor. When he came to he asked, "Where'd I go?"
Nano and Rose could always be found playing on the stairs.
Seeing some of the sights Philly has to offer, like Benjamin Franklin's grave. We learned that kids are not allowed to walk on the grave. Duh, we should have been more aware but the pennies were so enthralling.
The Mil family with Rose at Valley Forge. Thanks guys for an awesome time! For those wanting to visit the Mil family...go! Sister Mil is the best cook and host ever!

Forever, I know

Ok, I know it has been forever since we last posted anything on our blog so I'll get right down to business. Following are a list of reasons for not posting...

1) We moved! We now live in Lincoln, NE and are waiting to start dental school in August. Until then we are working on our house, spending time in the garden, going on vacation, hanging out with some great friends (and family who visit often), and just enjoying this time of being together as a family and not having to worry about anything, well except for money because we have none.
2) I really like Lincoln so far. We have amazing friends already and we have only been here for little over 2 months. Our ward is great and people are so willing to help out that they actually come over and do it! The only thing I don't like about Lincoln is the humidity.
3) In May we took a trip out to Philly to see Lil'Mil and family before they moved back west. Pics to follow.
4) My parents and the hub's mom have been here already (a few times). Its hard to leave your family and I really didn't realize how much of a home body I was until my home was so far away. I love you all and miss you so much! Come visit!
5) The hub and I just took a trip to Las Vegas. We left Rose with my mom and left for five days. It was great to see the shows, the hotels, spend time at the pool in the sun, and reconnect with my hubby but Las Vegas is the devil's playground. I knew going there that this would be a problem for us but I didn't realize how much of a problem! We just kept our eyes on each other and tried not to look. Pics to follow this trip too.
6) Rose turned 18 months in June and I can't believe what a little woman she is. No baby left in that girl. She is definitely her papa's girl with her mama's attitude! We love her so much and love to see the new things she comes up with every day.
7) Last and probably the biggest reason for not posting...I'm pregnant! Yes, I know. We can't believe it either! I was incredibly sick for the first 15 or so weeks and spent most of the time in bed or on the couch. I'm 19 weeks along and due the end of November. We don't know the sex yet but will find out in a few weeks. I'm excited I could actually keep this a secret for so long! I am already fat and miserable but not as sick so I can deal with the other things.
So, thats about all. I'll get the pictures soon but wanted everyone to know whats been going on.

valentines and estes park

Ok, this post has taken me many days to complete. I don't know why, maybe I'm too impatient with the uploading of pics but here it is. Just some pictures from the last month of what we have been up to...

Rose really likes the snow now and doesn't mind getting all dressed up even if she can't move.

Beautiful winter day outside.

This is a regular occurrence now in our house.
The hub and Nate made a fabulous fruit bouquet for Valentine's Day, plus they made us dinner. So sweet. Good job boys.

Last weekend we went to Estes Park for a nice time alone as a family. Rose loved looking at all the new scenery. Our favorite place to stop in Estes is this glass blowing shop. You can watch them make anything and sometimes we are able to buy something on clearance. I have a dream of a patio lit with these glass balls hanging all around (someday).
